The arrests resulted from an incident in New Haven County on Thursday, Aug. 24 around 1:15 a.m., when Milford Police officers learned of a vehicle that had been stolen from Gunn Street.
According to Milford Police, an officer on the way to the scene saw the vehicle and tried pulling it over. However, the stolen car did not stop and the officer ended the chase.
Soon after this though, the officer kept watching the vehicle from a distance and noticed it pulling into a dead-end street near Naugatuck Avenue, where it became stuck.
The officer then pulled up to the car, which prompted the driver and passenger to run from the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 19-year-old Goshen resident Robert Holly, was quickly caught a short distance away. The passenger, 19-year-old Ray Forbes of Manchester, was also caught a short time after running away, police said.
Investigating officers also found items inside the car that had allegedly been stolen from other vehicles on Gunn Street, according to authorities.
Both Holly and Forbes were taken into custody and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle in addition to several other charges. Their bonds were set at $20,000 and they were both scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
